The Politics of Identity on the Edge

Obligatory First Post

I have been writing everything from movement theory and linguistical analysis of contemporary identity politics, to personal narrative, to radical indy-porn. This blog is meant to act as both a place to collect my political analysis and a motivation to put more of my observations down on cyber-paper.

This will follow my various political interests and identities, and as someone who is multiracial, queerspawn (has queer parents), pansexual, genderqueer, trans, kinky, and involved in sex writing, that can span a lot. The theme that draws these issues together for me is the experience of being on the edge of identity politics. Straddling binaries of race, sexuality, and gender, as well as holding identities that are generally not considered valid, has given me a perspective as an outsider within.

I plan to write about issues such as marriage politics and poly activists, people of color being raised by white queer parents, tranny-chasers and exotification, the intersections of transphobia and misogyny that transwomen face, and how transfeminine genderqueers fit into genderqueer communities.

That’s just the beginning. Stay tuned.
